Big praise for Fighting with my Family actress Florence Pugh

Fox 2 Detroit’s “CriticLee Speaking” movie review show briefly talked about “Fighting with my Family” tonight because co-host Adam Graham was the only one who saw it. He gave it a thumbs up and once again admitted that he’s a pro wrestling fan.

He named actress Florence Pugh as his “Queen of the Box Office” in the segment at the end of the broadcast. He said there hasn’t been many good pro wrestling movies over the years, but Pugh is the “ace” of this one. He said she brings a vulnerability, toughness, and punk rock spirit to the role. He said we’ll probably be seeing a lot more of her in years to come and this was a better than average pro wrestling movie because of her performance.

In his Detroit News review, Graham gave the movie a B.

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide 2/16/19

AAA on 2/16/19 live on Twitch with the debut of the regular English speaking feed hosted by Vampiro and Australian Suicide:

La Parka came out to the ring with a neck brace on. He said he is tired of getting jumped so he and others would make sure to back each other up against Los Mercenarios.

Draztik Boy, Dragon Bane, and La Parkita vs. Mini Mosther Clown, Mini Murder Clown, and Latigo

Dragon Bane pinned Latigo. There was a scary situation as La Parkita did a flip dive from the top turnbuckle onto one of the clowns out on the floor and landed badly. The replay showed his head and neck bounced right off the floor. EMTs put him in a neck support and carried him to the back on a stretcher.

Super Porky was interviewed on the stage. La Máscara, who is Porky’s nephew, walked up hostile towards him. Psycho Clown, who is Porky’s son, then came out with a chair and ran La Máscara off.

Star Fire, Golden Magic, and Nino Hamburguesa vs. Lady Maravilla, Keyra, and Villano III Jr.

Keyra used a German suplex to pin Star Fire as Lady Maravilla once again blocked Nino from hitting the top rope splash as he was getting ready to drop on Villano III Jr. The heart “kiss cam” graphic appeared on screen again when Maravilla stopped Nino.

World Cruiserweight Champion Sammy Guevara (with Villano III Jr.) vs. Laredo Kid (with La Parka)
Kid pinned Guevara to win title after a Spanish Fly off the top rope. Very good match as expected between the two. La Parka stopped Villano III Jr. from interfering and brawled with him to the back. After the match, Villano III Jr. ran back out to jump Kid and unmask him until La Parka, Hijo Del Vikingo, and Myteziz, Jr made the save. Villano III Jr. managed to steal the belt and put it on Guevara’s shoulder post-match outside of the ring, but Guevara spit on it and threw it back into the ring. In usual AAA fashion, you never know what the final card will be until an event actually happens. This title match was a surprise because it was not part of the line up going into the show.

Vampiro said La Parkita is okay but he will be out for a bit.

La Parka Negra, Superfly, Faby Apache vs. Myztyz Jr., Dinastia, and Lady Shani

Faby pinned Dinastia with a Tiger suplex. Rudo referee Tirantes originally counted slow when Apache had Dinastia pinned after a demon wings face buster. Dinastia then hit two springboard moonsaults on Apache but she caught him with her knees up on the third attempt then pinned him with the suplex. After the match, Tirantes once again acted like he did Apache a favor to allow her to win, so she slapped him. He left the ring holding while his face.

Pimpinela Escarlata, Maximo, and Mamba vs. Taurus, La Máscara, and Chessman

Pimpinela Escarlata pinned La Máscara with a cradle when Maximo stunned La Máscara with a kiss on the mouth.

Hijo Del Vikingo, Areo Star, and Drago      vs. Tito Santana, Mocho Cota Jr., Carta Brava, Jr.

Vikingo pinned Santana after the reverse 450 splash. During the match, Aero Star did a drive to the outside and caught Santana with a blockbuster sending them both over the guardrail and into the first and second row.

Rey Escorpión, Texano Jr, and Jeff Jarrett (who came out wearing an American flag mask) vs. Pagano, Psycho Clown, and Dr. Wagner, Jr.
Texano pinned Pagano after crucifix bomb from the top rope through table set up in the ring. It looked like Pagano was trying to go for a moonsault with a chair in hand as a weapon, but Texano caught him from behind to lead to the finish. Double J hit Wager over the head with the guitar in the match, but Pagano hit Double J with a leg drop off the rope to break up the pin. After the match, the rudos attacked and once again Escorpion unmasked Psycho.

The next AAA show is March 3.
