There was a recent article from Tokyo Sports that claims the DDT Group is looking at changing the name of DDT Universe this year. That could be a good possibility since NOAH is now also so heavily featured in their streaming. It also noted that subscriptions to the service have gone up by 20% in the last month due to the virus pandemic and they might be looking at adding on other promotions from around the world including the USA.

DDT Universe Giving Away Tons Of FREE Content

DDT Universe is once again showing its wonderful generosity and value. They will be releasing more past events for free on VOD throughout the month of April until April 30th. Those shows will include DDT, Tokyo Joshi Pro, Ganbare, and now NOAH. You don’t need to sign up to access the selected content.

In addition to these free VOD shows, DDT Universe is free for a month if you sign up for the first time. Signing up will allow you to watch any upcoming live streaming events and their all of the library on VOD.

It’s ¥900 after the first month and billed on the 1st of each month (just like NJPW World and STARDOM World are always billed on the 1st of each month).

I do take things as seriously as a traditional contract between the press and the public here on “Wrestling… with Demons”. I try to be honest, not biased. So in my opinion, and in my personal experience, DDT Universe is the best pro wrestling streaming service out there especially for the price.

They give you several live shows per month between DDT, Tokyo Joshi, and now NOAH. Not every event IS live because of so many shows from each promotion per month, but there is always much to choose from and the other shows get posted up on VOD within a few days so you do eventually get to see everything. There is a translation feature on the site for English and other languages. https://www.ddtpro.com/universe

I have a Firestick and access DDT Universe through the Amazon Silk internet browser on my big screen TV. It works perfectly fine with my internet service and speed. You can also watch it on a smartphone, laptop, etc.

NOAH No Fans Show Results 3/29/20: Title Change

Pro Wrestling NOAH “20th Anniversary NOAH the CHRONICLE vol. 2” results from Tokyo, Japan 🇯🇵 at an empty Korakuen Hall on 3/29/20 and live on DDT Universe https://www.ddtpro.com/universe/videos/8250

No fans allowed because of the virus pandemic and cases starting to increase in Tokyo over the last few days.

HAYATA and YO-HEY won the GHC Junior Tag Team Titles from Atsushi Kotoge and Kotaro Suzuki when HAYATA pinned Kotoge with the Headache Driver in 22:34.

GHC National Champion Takashi Sugiura beat Minoru Tanaka by ankle lock submission in 14:35. Katsuhiko Nakajima came out after the match with a smug and confident smile on his face to challenge for the title next. Sugiura accepted.

GHC Junior Champion Yoshinari Ogawa pinned Daisuke Harada in 26:39. The finish saw Harada hit a standing double stomp but he didn’t get all of it and slipped for Ogawa to immediately fold him up for the pin. Kotaro Suzuki attacked Ogawa after the match and laid him out. He said he wants to be the next challenger.

GHC Heavyweight Champion Go Shiozaki pinned Kazuyuki Fujita after a Gowan Lariat in 57:47 of a 60-minute time limit. They literally did nothing but intensely stare each other down during the first 30-minutes.

Shiozaki stood in the center of the ring and blocked Fujita from fully coming out of the corner in the first fifteen minutes. Fujita then stepped out of the corner to half circle him once but they stopped and just stared at each other again for fifteen more minutes. The confused referee encouraged them to lock up a couple of times and notified them of the time running out.

Finally after a half hour, Fujita took him down to the mat and held him grounded in a side headlock followed by a mounted position for several minutes. Things picked up in action and spilled to the floor after all of that. They brawled into the empty seats and even by the elevator area and balcony. It was a match sure to divide opinions of fans.

There was no commentary for this show but they had video packages with a voiceover before each match and a ring announcer.

NOAH has canceled their 4/4/20 and 4/5/20 shows because of the virus. That was supposed to be the opening of the Global Tag League 2020. The 4/10/20 and 4/12/20 dates are also canceled. There always is a possibility that more shows could end up being “no fans allowed” for live streaming, but like everything else in life now, it all depends on how severe the virus will continue to be.

NOAH Global Jr. League Finals 1/30/20 FREE Show

The big news this week was the announcement of CyberAgent buying Pro Wrestling NOAH. The Japanese media company also owns Tokyo Joshi Pro, DDT, and GanPro which can all be seen on DDT Universe. They own the wonderful Ambema TV steaming service as well which is one of a few streaming services from Japan that I depend on to do coverage.

DDT Universe is the best value in my opinion at only $8.25 USD. They air several events from their various promotions live and other events are posted up a few days after they take place. Now Pro Wrestling NOAH will be part of it too, so today’s free event airing is a way to celebrate the new addition.
