WWE Elimination Chamber results from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Wells Fargo Center and live on WWE Network on 3/8/20:
The Vikings Raiders (Erik and Ivar) vs. Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins on the free Kick Off Show
Erik pinned Ryder after The Viking Experience double team finisher when Ryder accidentally gave Hawkins the Rough Rider.
The Raw Women’s Title #1 con. Elimination Chamber Match will be the pay-per-view main event. Winner faces Becky Lynch for the title at Wrestlemania 34.
Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak
Bryan got the win by referee stoppage when Gulak “passed out” to the Yes Lock. They actually wrestled in a Catch technical style match with lots of mat wrestling and submission holds mixed in with suplexes. One German Suplex saw Bryan land really ugly looking on his head and neck but he was okay. The finish leaves room for a possible rematch as Gulak can say he never tapped out.
Kayla Braxton interviewed Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode backstage. They will be last to enter the Smackdown Tag Team Titles Elimination Chamber Match after winning the Gauntlet Match on Smackdown last week over all of the other teams involved. Ziggler mention his “girl” Mandy Rose will be watching to keep that storyline going. They said they don’t need luck because they will win the titles tonight. The screen went fuzzy for a couple of seconds like it’s been doing on Smackdown to set up a new character debut soon (speculation is it could be Killer Kross).
U.S. Champion Andrade (with Zelina Vega) vs. Humberto Carrillo
Andrade got the pin after reversing a roll up and holding the tights. Good match with lots of fast paced back and forth action. Vega pulled the floor mat away again and Andrade tried to DDT Carrillo on the floor but Carrillo turned it into a backdrop.
Charly Caruso interviewed AJ Styles backstage about his No Disqualification Match tonight against Alister Black. He said he will have Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson at ringside with him. He said sarcastically that he feels sorry for Black because Black doesn’t have any friends and is alone.
The Smackdown Tag Team Titles Elimination Chamber with Champions Miz and John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode (to enter last) vs. Heavy Machinery (Otis and Tucker) vs. The New Day (Big E. and Kofi Kingston) vs. Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado) vs. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso)
The New Day vs. The Usos start it off.
Lucha House Party are released from their pod first to enter into the match.
There were a very impressive and high risk spots by Lucha House Party diving off the top of the pod on the others below.
Smackdown Tag Champions Miz and John Morrison released from their pod next.
Heavy Machinery is the next team released.
Heavy Machinery pinned Gran Metalik after the compactor to eliminate Lucha House Party first. Dorado did a spectacular move just before by climbing the very roof of the chamber and doing a shooting star press down on everyone below.
Ziggler and Roode are the final team out of the pod to enter.
Otis tried to give Ziggler a running splash up against the Chamber but Ziggler moved and Otis crashed through the wall and down to the floor.
Roode and Ziggler pinned Tucker after a super kick and Glorious DDT combination to eliminate Heavy Machinery.
The Uso double pinned Roode and Ziggler after flying off of a pod each with Uso splashes to eliminate Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
Miz and Morrison both pinned Kofi Kingston after Kingston missed a move flying off the top of a pod while aiming for one of the Usos. The New Day is eliminated.
Miz and John Morrison both pinned Jimmy Uso in a unique combination near the ropes with Morrison jackknifing over both of the them and Miz using feet on the ropes for leverage.
Shayna Baszler and Asuka (with Kairi Sane) were shown getting ready for the main event.
Caruso interviewed Natalya backstage. Natalya said Beth Phoenix is strong and will be okay from Randy Orton’s RKO attack on her on Raw last week. She said Phoenix and Edge are like family to her and they will survive but Orton won’t once they recover.
AJ Styles (with Gallows and Anderson) vs. Alister Black in a No Disqualification Match
Black got the pin after the Black Mask. The lights went out before the finish as Gallows and Anderson interfered and held Black up for Styles to try to give him The Phenomenal Forearm. When the lights came back on The Undertaker was in the ring holding Gallows and Anderson by their throats. Styles tried to give him the Forearm instead but got caught with a chokeslam. The lights went out again, and when they came back on, The Undertaker was gone.
This match went too long and there wasn’t much action until the end for having a No DQ stipulation.
The Street Profits did a quick backstage promo to hype the Raw Tag Team Titles Match.
Raw Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy (with AOP) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins)
Dawkins got the pin on Murphy after a frog splash. The Viking Raiders came out in the middle of the match and stopped AOP from interfering. They brawled to the back and never came back out.
Kevin Owens wandered out from the crowd eating a box of popcorn and casually sat of the Spanish announcers desk. Rollings confronted him and Owens threw popcorn in his face. Dawkins gave Rollins a hard shot to the back and set him flying into the barricade. Murphy did a dive at Ford and Dawkins to the outside but Ford and Dawkins caught him and threw him into the other barricade. They threw him back in the ring and isolated him for the finish.
Intercontinental Champion Braun Strowman vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus, and Sami Zayn in a handicap match
They said whoever may possibly get the pin or submission against Strowman will be Champion.
Braxton interviewed the heels backstage. Zayn did all of the talking of course. He said he’s not lacking confidence. He said they have been dealing with Strowman for months but Strowman hasn’t been able to land one hand on him so far and he knows that’s what Strowman wants.
Sami Zayn pulled off an upset and pinned Strowman to win the title after a helluva kick as Nakamura and Sheamus where giving Strowman a double team suplex at the same time. The finish was set up by Nakamura giving Strowman a Kinshasa up against the ring post. Zayn spent the whole match running away from Strowman.
Raw Women’s Title #1 con. Elimination Chamber Match with Shayna Baszler vs. Asuka vs. Natalya vs. Ruby Riott vs. Liv Morgan vs. Sarah Logan
Ruby Riott vs. Natalya are the first two in.
Sarah Logan is the next released in the Chamber.
Logan did a perfect flying crossbody on Riott and Natalya off on a pod.
Shayna is out next.
Shayna chokes out Logan and the Riott back to back to eliminate them.
Shayna repeatedly slammed a pod door against Natalya then choked her out too for the elimination.
Shayna had plenty of time in the ring alone so she taunted Asuka and Morgan still in their pods but Asuka wasn’t afraid. I think they were playing with the pod release time because this went on a long time before Morgan was finally released next.
Shayna choked out Morgan for the elimination while sitting on the top rope right in front of Asuka inside her pod to try to intimidate her.
Becky Lynch was shown watching backstage on the monitor.
Shayna is once again in the ring alone until Asuka is released. It’s taking forever and the crowd is turning on the match.
Asuka is finally released last.
Shayna Baszler won the match by referee stoppage when Asuka “passed out” to the choke submission. Asuka managed to get her in the Asuka Lock but Shayna rolled out of the ring and rammed her against the Chamber wall to break it up. Shayna locked in the choke a first time but Asuka turned it into a pin attempt for a two count to break it up.
Everyone knew Shayna was winning. This was one of the most predictable shows in WWE history aside from Zayn beating Strowman. Shayna will face Lynch at WM.
